Jean-Paul Arsenault was appointed to the Veterans Review and Appeal Board in 2010. He has had a varied career working in both the public and private sectors, including 21 years with the Government of Prince Edward Island. Through an Interchange Canada assignment with the federal government, he served as Executive Director of the Veterans Appeal Board from 1994 to 1995. He also worked for Parks Canada as the Director of Human Resources for Eastern Canada immediately prior to being appointed to the Board. His private sector experience includes an eight-year association with a Charlottetown-based human resource consulting firm.
Mr. Arsenault holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of New Brunswick and a Masters in Business Administration from Université Laval.
Mr. Arsenault has a great interest in Acadian history and genealogy and has written a number of articles for historical reviews on these topics. He and his wife, Elva, have three grown children and three grandchildren.
