Brent Taylor was appointed to the Veterans Review and Appeal Board in 2007. Prior to his appointment, he was the manager of Information Technology for Atlantic Business College in Fredericton, New Brunswick, where he also delivered the legal instruction and legal research components of the college’s Paralegal program. He was a member of the New Brunswick legislature from 1991 to 1995, and has also worked in broadcasting, media relations, and business.
As a freelance writer for more than 20 years, his columns on public affairs were published in the Fredericton Daily Gleaner and the Miramichi Leader.
For 22 years, from 1985 to 2007, he served as a volunteer firefighter with the Doaktown Fire Department in New Brunswick. He also was an emergency responder and member of 571 Brigade with St. John Ambulance, where he became an instructor in standard first aid and basic cardiac life support. He is a licensed private pilot and amateur radio operator, and also served as a District Communications Officer for the New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization.
Mr. Taylor was born in Lachine, Québec and now resides in Stratford, Prince Edward Island.
