What decisions can be appealed to the Veterans Review and Appeal Board?
Review Hearing (first level of appeal)
- a decision of the Department of Veterans Affairs regarding a claim for
disability compensation, special award or surviving dependant benefits or
- a First Decision of the former Canadian Pension Commission.
Appeal Hearing
(the second level of appeal)
- a Review Hearing decision of the Veterans Review and Appeal Board
- a decision of an Entitlement Board or an Assessment Hearing of the former
Canadian Pension Commission
- a Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office Review Committee decision for
a War Veterans Allowance.
