What is a Review Hearing?
The
Review Hearing is your opportunity to
- have
your claim reviewed by an independent agency that was not involved in making
the initial decision;
- have
a representative give evidence on your behalf;
- appear with your spouse, your children, and any relevant witnesses; and
- give your testimony before Members of the Veterans Review and Appeal Board.
The Review Hearing
- is
informal and non-adversarial;
- is
conducted in the official language of your choice; and
- is held in approximately 30 locations across Canada and may also be
held via teleconference and video conference.
The Veterans
Review and Appeal Board Members
- review
all the available claim information and supporting documents;
- listen
to your representative's statement and summary;
- listen
to your testimony; and
- review
all of the evidence presented.
