On Remembrance Day, we mark the 100th anniversary of the Armistice that ended the First World War by honouring and recognizing Canada’s Veterans.
One hundred years later, it is hard to fathom their sacrifice: more than 66,000 Canadians and Newfoundlanders died and 170,000 were wounded during the war before the Armistice was finally declared. Together, we must persist in remembering their sacrifices and achievements to restore peace and freedom to the world.
At the Veterans Review and Appeal Board, we are privileged to work every day to help fulfill our country’s obligation to Canadians in uniform, past and present. Board Members and staff all have a role to play in improving the lives of Veterans by ensuring they receive the benefits to which they are entitled. We take pride in our role today, and every day, as we honour their service.
